Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events (ACVE) has added another world-class event venue to its portfolio, with the Museum of Transport and Technology’s (MOTAT) Taiwhanga Rererangi – Aviation Hall open for bookings from 1 November 2024.
MOTAT is New Zealand’s largest transport and technology museum. It not only offers a fun and exciting learning experience for all visitors, but also offers its Aviation Hall as a unique venue for impressive corporate functions.
Located at MOTAT on Motions Road in Western Springs, the Aviation Hall houses one of the world’s most unique aircraft collections that highlights the history of military and civil aviation in New Zealand.
Richard Dodds, ACVE’s Manager, Convention Sales, says ACVE manages a diverse portfolio of Auckland’s most unique venues for events of all types, and is excited to welcome the Aviation Hall as its twelfth venue.
“We’re thrilled to partner with MOTAT to offer a stunning new space for events at the Aviation Hall. Guests will be able to enjoy cocktails under the nose of the Avro Lancaster Bomber before travelling down the runway to dine beneath the impressive Solent and Sunderland flying boats.
“The Aviation Hall’s one-of-a-kind setting, surrounded by iconic aircraft and aviation artifacts, will leave a lasting impression on event-goers, providing an experience outside of the ordinary.”
Craig Hickman-Goodall, Museum Director/Chief Executive of MOTAT adds: “We are delighted to partner with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited to enable private events once again in our Aviation Hall.
“It truly lends itself to being an uplifting and unique venue for corporate and private events. This is a much-needed revenue stream for MOTAT that we can only make possible through the closer alignment and collaboration of this partnership.
“We look forward to developing the profile of the Aviation Hall with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, which has an excellent reputation and reach in selling and delivering events for Auckland.”
MOTAT’s Aviation Hall can accommodate up to 500 guests for a cocktail style function or 300 for a seated dinner. Located close to the motorway and minutes away from central Auckland, the venue – which is only available for evening bookings – also offers ample on-site parking.
It joins other landmark ACVE venues available for events, including Viaduct Events Centre, Aotea – Te Pokapū | Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall, The Cloud, Auckland Art Gallery, Shed 10, and Auckland Zoo.
Richard Dodds says adding the Aviation Hall to ACVE’s event venue portfolio will further solidify the organisation’s standing as a trusted venue provider.
“ACVE is able to provide complete conference solutions. We hosted more than 360 events attended by more than 150,000 attendees in the 2024 financial year. We have a dedicated team who are experts in their field, who are excited to welcome guests to the Aviation Hall.”
ACVE offers state-of-the-art facilities and a comprehensive range of in-house services including a dedicated event coordinator for every event, a highly experienced technical services team and security services. It also works with renowned, award-winning caterers to provide exceptional catering options for all types of events at our venues.
The Aviation Hall is ideal for end-of-year functions and available for booking from 5 November. Please contact Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events to visit this space and see it in person.
