Introduction

Shed 10, located on Auckland's waterfront, is a historic yet versatile venue ideal for conferences, gala dinners, and award ceremonies. 

Built in 1910, this heritage-listed Category 1 Historic Place is the last original building on Queens Wharf. Thoughtfully restored, it combines premium event amenities with its original industrial charm, while also serving as a facility for visiting cruise ships. 

The Ground Floor retains its rugged character with a concrete floor, steel columns, and exposed beams, creating a unique backdrop for events. Level 1 offers a warmer aesthetic with timber flooring, exposed steel trusses, and a gabled ceiling featuring skylights. 

Both floors are filled with natural light and provide easy access, making Shed 10 an exceptional event space. With its blend of history, character, and functionality, Shed 10 is distinctly New Zealand and quintessentially Auckland.

AIMES Awards Gala Dinner - Case Study 

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the 2025 AIMES Awards Gala Dinner outgrew its usual home at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna. The annual event sees the North Harbour Club & Charitable Trust award grants through their AIMES Awards programme to outstanding young people in the North Harbour region.

We spoke with Louise O’Sullivan, Events Manager at North Harbour Club & Charitable Trust, about how relocating to our central city venue Shed 10 was a major success - thanks to its heritage charm and wow-factor that perfectly suited this year’s theme.

While there is no public parking on Queens Wharf, a limited number of parking spaces available to event organisers. Public parking is available at Britomart and Downtown Car parks.
