At Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events (ACVE), sustainability is at the heart of our operations. As part of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU), ACVE is proud to support its commitment to minimising environmental impact and driving positive change through key partnerships, certifications, and industry initiatives.
- Year 1 Sustainable Supplier – ACVE has been recognised as a Year 1 Sustainable Supplier, an initiative led by the New Zealand Events Association. This recognition highlights our dedication to incorporating sustainable practices in the business events sector. While there is more work to be done to deliver low impact events, this achievement reinforces our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our events.
- Toitū Envirocare Carbonreduce Certification – ACVE is proud to be part of TAU’s certified Toitū Envirocare Carbonreduce programme, which demonstrates our commitment to measuring and reducing carbon emissions. In 2017, Auckland Zoo, one of our flagship venues, was the first Tātaki Auckland Unlimited venue to gain Toitū carbonzero certification. The 2021/2022 assessment included ACVE’s collection of venues, ensuring sustainability efforts are embedded across our operations.
- New Zealand Green Building Council – As part of TAU, a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council, ACVE supports its mission to promote healthier, greener buildings. Operating within a network of venues, we align with best practices in sustainable building management and continuously seek ways to enhance energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint.
- Sustainable Business Network – Through TAU’s membership in the Sustainable Business Network, ACVE supports the initiatives that promote responsible business practices and sustainability within the events industry.
- All Heart New Zealand –By TAU’s participation in the Impact Partner Programme, we actively divert event-related waste from landfills and contribute to meaningful social and environmental initiatives. ACVE is committed to reducing corporate waste as part of the wider Tātaki Auckland Unlimited whanau.
- C40 Cities – As a key player in Auckland’s events industry, ACVE aligns with Auckland Council’s membership in C40 Cities, a global network dedicated to climate action. We recognise our role in reducing emissions and supporting a more sustainable city by implementing environmentally responsible event management practices.
